Sour Cream Raisin Pie

My mom,all three of my daughters and I belong to Eastern Star. They take turns bringing refreshments for after the meetings. Every time that it was my mother turn she made this pie, she always had to make 2, there was never any left.

1/3 Cup flour
3 eggs (separated)
2/3 Cup sugar
1 small carton sour cream
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 Cup raisins
1 Cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix flour, sugar and salt, add enough milk to make smooth paste.
Add egg yolks and beat well.
Add remaining milk and sour cream.
Cook over low heat until mixture begins to thicken, stirring frequently.
Add raisins and cook until thick.
Add vanilla.
Pour into baked pie shell.
Top with meringue make from the egg whites.
Bake 400 degrees for 5 minutes.

To prevent crust from becoming soggy with cream pie, sprinkle crust with powdered sugar.
